Acatenango Overnight

Runs every day. The tour starts at 8:30 am, the bus is going to pick you up at your hostel.

What it's about: You’ll hike the most scenic route to a new carefully designed campsite.The hike takes 4-5 hours, depending on the group. On your way you are going to see the 3 different parts of Acatenango, pine forest, the cloudy forest and soil with volcanic sand.

What you'll need: You only need to carry your food, your clothes, your 3-4 liters of water (3 to drink in the way up & down, and 1 for your coffee and chocolate), a blanket and a pillow cover.

The tent capacity is of 1-5 people each one. When you arrive, everything will be ready for you. From base camp you can see powerful Fuego volcano and the amazing sunset.

The next day you are going to be woken up at 4 am to hike the last part of Acatenango to see the sunrise at the top!  (You will have time to take pictures)

Then, around 7 am, you are going to have your breakfast, get ready and start going down. You are going to come back to Antigua at around noon.

Pacaya Half a Day Tour

Runs every day. You can choose between 6 am to 1 pm or 2 pm to 8 pm.

Includes: transportation from and to the hostel, and a local guide (Spanish speaking only! Though you’ll find slates with information in English and Spanish along the way).

What it's about: you’ll see petrified lava and volcanic rocks. You’ll experience the terrain difference as you go up, enjoy some volcano-roasted marshmallows, and you’ll hike high enough to see other volcanoes and even the sea on a clear day!

What you'll need: comfy shoes, a warm jacket, snacks, and 1 liter of water.

Difficulty: easy to moderate.
